About me
Jaymie Neat Fine Art
I am a self taught artist from Ash, near Canterbury, in Kent. I have been drawing for friends and family for over 25 years, and was inspired by my late husband to take the leap and make a career out of my hobby.
I started off drawing in graphite pencil, and then expanded in to colour. Most recently I have been working with acrylic paint, thanks to a fellow artist's encouragement - my now favourite medium!
I personally get a lot of joy and satisfaction from the reaction of the recipient upon receiving their portrait.
Whilst my main focus is usually animals, I have been known to draw other subjects. So, whatever your choice of subject, if you would like to commission a drawing or painting, please do not hesitate to get in contact.

How to order
I work from your photos to produce a portrait as life like as possible. In order to allow me to get the required detail, the reference photo should be of good quality, clear and well lit (particularly for darker coloured animals). I appreciate in some instances this is not always possible, particularly when the picture is a memorial piece and available photos may not be of high quality. If you are unsure if your photos are of good enough quality, please get in touch, as I may still be able to work with what is available. If I don't feel I can do the piece justice, I will let you know before any booking is made.
Portraits can be of one or more subjects on the same page - however some page sizes are more suitable for this than others. I can help guide you to choosing the appropriate size depending on your requirements.
In order to secure your slot, a 20% non-refundable deposit is required. Although non-refundable, the deposit can be transferred to another date. Once the deposit is received, the slot is confirmed.
Portraits are detailed and as such, take time to produce. The more time in advance of a required date that a slot is booked, the more achievable the date is - particularly if the picture is intended as a gift for a special occasion, such as a birthday or Christmas. If a date is not achievable, a gift voucher for a portrait may be a nice alternative. Please contact me to check if your required date is achievable. Please note that Christmas is a particularly busy time, and therefore getting booked in as early as possible is recommended.
All portraits are produced on archival quality paper, using quality pencils or acrylic paints. Paintings on canvas are also available at an additional cost.
Portraits will be provided with a mount, ready for framing.
